A Day in the Village!Fall is starting is to make its presence known in the eastern Sierra and the small village of Markleeville will be welcoming its arrival with our 9th Annual Markleeville Artists Autumn Open Studio Tour! Come join us and spend the day visiting the studios of village artists creating pottery, photography, stained glass, oil paintings and watercolors. We even have hand made confectionary art! Stop by the Chamber of Commerce in Markleeville to get your FREE map and guide. The guide includes the 12 artists descriptions and locations as well as information about our 14 generous sponsors. Bright yellow and gold banners will be hanging throughout town, marking each artist's studio. This year the members of the Markleeville Artists Open Studios are very proud to announce that we have become a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the development of artists in Alpine County. Directions:Markleeville is 25 miles south of Lake Tahoe and 60 miles south of Reno.From the Bay Area: Take Hwy 50 or Hwy 88 toward Lake Tahoe. Take Hwy88/ 89 towards Woodfords.
